Adria Ferries Reaffirms Its Commitment to a Barrier-Free Society by Hosting Fiaba Day 2024 Aboard the AF Mia
Once again, Adria Ferries has chosen to participate in FiabaDay 2024, the national event focused on eliminating architectural and cultural barriers, promoted by FIABA ETS. After hosting the event on the AF Marina in 2022 and the AF Claudia in 2023, this year Adria Ferries renews its commitment to inclusivity by welcoming FiabaDay 2024 aboard the AF Mia, demonstrating how the entire fleet is designed to ensure accessibility and inclusive mobility.
Since 2003, FiabaDay has been a key event for those, like Adria Ferries, dedicated to removing physical and social obstacles that limit freedom and social integration. Adria Ferries views its participation in this event not merely as a commitment but as a concrete action in support of barrier-free mobility, where accessibility is considered an inalienable right.
An Inclusive Experience Aboard the AF Mia
On October 29, 2024, an entire day was devoted to providing a memorable experience aboard the AF Mia. Approximately 40 guests, including volunteers and people with disabilities, were welcomed and accompanied by volunteers from the Italian Red Cross and the Ancona Port Authority staff for a guided tour, discovering life at sea on the AF Mia. The event began with a welcome breakfast and the distribution of backpacks containing snacks to make the experience more enjoyable. The day continued with a short outing at sea aboard the tugboat Elisabetta, organized with the collaboration of the SERS Company of Ancona, offering guests a real taste of nautical adventure.
FiabaDay 2024 thus served not only as a day of awareness but as a true call to action aimed at fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.
