Fiaba Day 2023: "Eliminating barriers is possible. Let's do it!"
On the occasion of Fiaba Day 2023, Adria Ferries welcomed guests with reduced mobility aboard the AF Claudia, offering them the opportunity to experience life on board for a few hours.
Fiaba day, founded in 2000, aims to eliminate architectural barriers to promote the creation of accessible spaces and raise awareness about the need for an inclusive society where everyone can enjoy their rights and fully participate in social, political, and civil life.
In this perspective, on Tuesday, October 17th, Adria Ferries welcomed guests with mobility limitations aboard the AF Claudia, offering them the opportunity to immerse themselves in onboard life for a few hours. Accompanied by volunteers from the Italian Red Cross and officers from the Port Authority of Ancona, participants toured the ship guided by the captain and crew. The company provided a welcome breakfast and distributed backpacks containing snacks to the "passengers for a day." Additionally, a brief sea outing was organized aboard the tugboat "Elisabetta" of the SERS Company of Ancona.
The theme of awareness for this edition, titled "Eliminating barriers is possible. Let's do it!", highlights how accessibility is essential to combat social exclusion, turning an individual challenge into a collective issue. The campaign promotes small actions that can make a difference, encouraging the immediate adoption of simple measures.
Adria Ferries reaffirms its commitment to improving its services, with particular attention to accessibility on board its ships for all passengers, including those with disabilities. The company considers the well-being and safety of its guests indispensable values and has therefore designed onboard spaces to facilitate easy access for people with motor limitations, while ensuring adequate assistance and comfort from the crew during navigation.
